Nick Nevsky from Kansas City, Missouri—Barney, to be exact. I was working for a dealership beforehand. I came to Barts Electric five months ago, and the best decision I’ve made in a very, very long time. It’s been a lot of fun—a lot different workplace and environment. But it’s fantastic; busy work, doing stuff. I mean, it’s been the fastest five months of my life. Every day, always doing something. It’s exciting, fun. Everyone that I work with is fantastic. They’re all good guys and very welcoming for new apprentices. It’s an important thing for me—family’s everything. Personally, working for a company like Barts Electric, that’s their main focus.

It’s very true. They’re true to their word. I mean, they really do care about their employees. I’ve only been here for five months, but from what I can tell, they really do care for everyone that works for Barts Electric. So, I was looking for something new. I actually went to college for four years, played baseball, got a degree. After the four years of college, I was not really feeling the degree. I didn’t really want to go into anything in that field. I thought, “Man, I need to find a trade.” A week later, I was in the shop, and then a week after that, I was at a job site already working. It was fantastic.

Everyone wants to be millionaires, right when they start. But you’ve got to start somewhere; you’ve got to humble yourself a little bit and work your way up. That’s kind of the point of it. I want to be a foreman—that’s going to be my main goal. Manage a group of guys and command a whole job site, get stuff done. That’s pretty much my game plan.
