Welcome to the world of Barts Electric, a national electrical construction contractor that is not just a company but a platform for electricians and aspiring individuals to build a fulfilling career. In this blog article, we’ll delve into the experiences of one of our team members who has been with Barts Electric for over five years. Whether you’re an electrician looking for a dynamic workplace or someone considering a career in electrical construction, Barts Electric has opportunities waiting for you.

Learning from the Ground Up

Our journey begins with our team member’s entry into Barts Electric, where they spent their initial years in the shop. Working alongside a dedicated trainer and a group of new hires, they learned the ropes of the trade by going from job site to job site. Tasks included handling lights, plugs, and mastering the basics of electrical work.

Mentorship and Growth

Chad, an experienced professional at Barts Electric, played a pivotal role in shaping our team member’s skills and knowledge. For two years, they worked together on various job sites, honing their craft and gaining valuable insights into the intricacies of the field. This hands-on mentorship provided a solid foundation for the journey ahead.

Project Highlights

The journey took an exciting turn when our team member contributed to the completion of significant projects. One notable milestone was the finishing of the Wine Dot Juvenile Detention Center, followed by their involvement in the Greene County Detention Center project in Springfield, Missouri. The latter proved to be a transformative experience, marked by continuous learning and skill development over a two-year span.

Diverse Experiences

Barts Electric believes in providing its team members with diverse experiences to enhance their skills. Our team member then worked on gear projects in Smithville, gaining exposure to different aspects of electrical construction. This varied experience, from project to project, contributes to the well-rounded skill set that defines Barts Electric professionals.

I’ve been here for five years and four months. I started out in the shop, and I had a trainer that, along with four or five other new hires, would go and follow around. We would go from job site to job site, doing lights, plugs, basically learning how to do the simple tasks. Chad took me under his wing at Spring Hill, and I worked for him for probably two years, going from job site to job site with Chad. I learned a lot from him.

At the end of my second year, we finished the Wine Dot Juvenile Detention Center. I went to Springfield, Missouri, and worked on the Greene County Detention Center. That was probably the most I’ve learned on a project in that two-year span. I worked there for two years. Then I came back here and did some gear work in Smithville. I’ve worked on various job sites and landed here, where I’ve been for about four months.
