Barts Electric, a national electrical construction contractor, is not just a workplace; it’s a platform for growth and success. In this blog article, we’ll delve into the journey of Andrew, who has spent eight years with Barts Electric, highlighting the numerous opportunities the company offers to its electricians and those aspiring to join the field.

Opportunities at Barts Electric

At Barts Electric, the mantra is clear – they build people by providing ample opportunities for their employees to thrive. The message resonates throughout the company, emphasizing that participation in these opportunities leads to success. Andrew shares his insights, affirming that engaging with the various programs at Barts Electric transforms employees into winners.

Personal Success and the Barts Journey

Andrew reflects on his journey and underscores the idea that adding your own effort, or “wood to the stove,” is crucial to feeling the warmth of success. Barts Electric is designed to reward those who actively participate in the opportunities presented to them. The company encourages its electricians, both apprentices and experienced journeymen, to contribute actively and continuously grow within their roles.

Opportunities at Every Stage

Barts Electric recognizes that success is a journey, not a destination. The opportunities to contribute and learn are present at every stage of an electrician’s career within the company. Even as an apprentice, individuals have the chance to go beyond the basics. Apprentices can not only focus on their own development but also actively participate in teaching others, whether it’s during class or safety meetings.

Teaching and Elevating

One of the key opportunities highlighted by Andrew is the chance to teach and elevate others within the Barts Electric community. Apprentices, from their first year onward, are given the platform to share their knowledge and contribute to the growth of their peers. By embracing these teaching opportunities, individuals elevate themselves, adding more “wood to the stove” and experiencing the benefits of their contributions over time.

Continuous Growth

The blog emphasizes the continuous nature of growth within Barts Electric. By actively participating in the various programs and opportunities, electricians can build a successful career that extends beyond the technical aspects of the job. Barts Electric not only invests in its employees’ technical skills but also encourages the development of leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Barts Electric stands out not just as a national electrical construction contractor but as a company that believes in building its people. The journey with Barts Electric is one of continuous opportunities, growth, and success. Whether you’re an aspiring electrician or an experienced journeyman, Barts Electric is always looking to welcome new talent. Join the journey, add your wood to the stove, and experience the warmth of success with Barts Electric.

So today, Andrew, we’re gonna fast forward eight years. Now, you’re eight years into your journey here at Barts Electric. Today, you’re gonna tell us a little bit about that journey, but I’d like to go to where we’re at today.

One message we deliver throughout Barts all the time is opportunity. We build people, and we have put opportunities in place to where if our employees participate in all those opportunities, they come out as a winner. Would you agree with that?

Absolutely. What’s an area in your life that you have followed that advice and have stuck with or participated in all the Barts programs that have been a success for you? Generally speaking, I think that one of the opportunities that Barts has is the ability to add your own wood to the stove to feel that heat.

I think that Barts has an opportunity here to where you will get back what you put in tenfold. That opportunity is present at every stage within your journey here. As an apprentice, you have the ability to show up to class and not really do anything if you’re gonna just kind of get by and do the work that you’re supposed to do and put your head down. You have that opportunity, but you also have an opportunity starting with your first year to teach other people too.

You’re constantly given opportunities to get in front of the class and teach during safety meetings. So, there are multiple opportunities at every stage in this career where you can teach others or start to build others. Every time you do that, you are elevated. Just by adding your own wood to that stove, you are continually building that heat more and more. You will feel the benefits of it, as I have over the past several years.
