I’ve only been doing electric work for about four years now. Well, ever since I started with Barts Electric last, uh, four years ago in August. This project has taught me a lot. It’s the first time I’ve been in more of a managerial role with Eric being right under Eric on this project.

Hi, my name is Frank, and I’m out here at College Park with Eric as my foreman—Eric Eckert. We are in the final stages right now, doing our final punch list. Also, Pat’s out here today filming for the owner’s training. So, that’s what we’re out here doing today.

I’ve learned a lot—how to manage guys, how to manage different guys with different, uh, personalities. That’s what I was looking for. Eric’s taught me a lot about dealing with the general contractors and then also the subs. Our subs that we have—the fire alarm and the nurse call, which is the actual Barts Electric as well.

So, I’ve really been trying to be their point of contact. Also, with the other trade guys, you know? I know Eric’s got a lot on his plate. So, on this project, I kind of tried to take over. I’m the point of contact for the other trade guys and the subs and really try to take some of that stuff away from Eric so he can focus on, I guess, more important things. But maybe I don’t have the answers for the general contractor. Why interning?
