At Barts Electric, a leading national electrical construction contractor, we understand the value of mentorship and the impact it has on both personal and professional growth. This commitment to nurturing talent was vividly showcased in our recent company video, highlighting the strides we’ve made in developing a robust mentorship program for our electricians and apprentices.

The Power of Mentorship at Barts Electric

Our mentor-mentee program is more than just a routine; it’s a transformative experience for everyone involved. Each new employee at Barts Electric is paired with a mentor, an experienced electrician who guides them through the intricacies of the electrical construction field. The recent gathering of mentors and mentees showcased the exceptional talent we’re nurturing, with some of the finest apprentices the industry has seen.

Exemplary Growth and Development

The mentors at Barts Electric go above and beyond in teaching the ‘Barts way’, emphasizing quality, dedication, and skill. Their efforts are evident in apprentices like Jack and Chase, who have shown remarkable progress. These apprentices aren’t just learning the basics; they’re quickly picking up complex skills, showing up early, and demonstrating a level of commitment and enthusiasm that sets a high standard for the industry.

Understanding Value and Expectations

An integral part of our mentorship program is understanding the value of our electricians and apprentices. It involves conversations about wages, raises, and expectations. Our goal is to ensure that our team members are not only skilled but also feel valued and fairly compensated for their hard work and dedication.

Setting Ambitious Goals

At Barts Electric, our aspirations for our team members are high. We aim to nurture every mentee into becoming a Master Electrician, and beyond that, to achieve financial success. This includes guiding them through financial planning, maximizing their benefits like the 401K plan, and ensuring they receive the best match from Barts Electric. Our mentors are dedicated to building and uplifting their mentees continuously.

Creating Industry Leaders

Our focus is not just on building the highest-paid electricians in the industry but also on creating leaders. This ethos is reflected in the way our team members lead, their commitment, their desire to excel, and their overall conduct. At Barts Electric, we’re not just building electrical systems; we’re building people, leaders who are equipped to take on the challenges of the electrical construction industry.

The progress we’ve seen in such a short period is nothing short of amazing. It’s a testament to the culture of growth, mentorship, and excellence we’ve cultivated at Barts Electric. For those aspiring to become electricians or experienced journeymen looking for a place to grow and thrive, Barts Electric offers an unparalleled opportunity. Join us, and be part of a team that is not just shaping the future of electrical construction but also shaping the future of its people.

Wow, I just finished up with a Mentor-Mentee class, and it is amazing. This is unbelievable what’s happened this past year with the momentum and the effort we’re putting out at Barts Electric. We have mentors for every new employee that comes to work for us, and I just met with a group of about a dozen of them. This is some of the cream of the crop. Absolutely, this year we have some of the best apprentices we’ve ever had, and these mentors are going the extra mile. They’re lifting them, they’re teaching the Barts Electric way, they’re teaching the quality.

Jack, let me tell you about Jack. He’s been great—phenomenal, wise, and as far as wanting to do this stuff. I mean, the dude shows up super early, Steve does whatever, doesn’t complain. He does all the stuff that somebody who’s been doing this for a few years is already doing. It’s just amazing what’s happening right now. It is a culture and a group of people that we have just not seen this caliber in a long time.

Chase, I was really impressed with Chase—just how quickly you picked up on things with the wiring lights, you know, switch legs out. Chase, do you know how much Will makes? I have an idea but not exactly. Do you know how much Chase makes? I don’t. Do you know how much he wants for his next raise? We’ll find out, okay. So, we need to know what our mentees are making and what the expectation of the mentee is. If you’re putting the wood in the stove, you can, but if you set such a high expectation, you’ve got to make sure that he’s hitting that expectation also.

What would a ten-dollar raise look like? What would you expect, Andrew? Bare minimum would be, you know, running, capable of running a whole entire area. I mean, really proving that you can build people along the way. So, we have some goals at Barts Electric, and we have these tremendous mentors. The mentor’s job is to get every one of the mentees to be Master Electricians, to be a millionaire. That means getting them in the 401K, mentoring them through that, making sure that they’re maxing it out, they’re getting the max match from Barts Electric.

For these mentors to be building and lifting people all the time, we want them to be the highest-paid electricians in the industry, and they’re doing it right now. We’re seeing those things happen, and they’re building each other. We build people at Barts Electric, and you can see it all around us. You can see in the caliber of people, you can see in the way that they lead, you can see in the way they carry themselves, you can see in their commitment, you can see in the way that they want to win at Barts Electric. It’s tremendous. It’s amazing to see what’s happened in a short period of time. I can’t wait to see all of these mentees run and work for Barts Electric.
