At Barts Electric, a leading national electrical construction contractor, growth and opportunity are at the core of everything we do. This Friday marks one of the most exciting and important days on our calendar — a day filled with celebration, training, and recognition for the hardworking individuals who make our company thrive.

This year’s event is extra special, as we host our very first graduation on our new campus, celebrating our largest class of graduates to date. The day is packed with activities that highlight Barts Electric’s commitment to excellence, including our highly anticipated Craft Championship, instructor training sessions, and, of course, the cornerstone of the day — our graduation ceremony.

A Graduation That Reflects Barts Electric’s Values

Our graduating class represents far more than just the completion of training. Many of these graduates are already running projects, stepping into leadership positions, and, most importantly, mentoring the next generation of electricians. This group exemplifies what Barts Electric is all about — a dedication not only to technical skill but also to building each other up and helping others grow.

Several apprentices have shared how much they’ve learned from our experienced fourth-year graduates, calling them “code gurus” for their ability to break down complex concepts and guide others through challenging material. Seeing our graduates transform from students into trusted mentors is a testament to the strength and purpose of our in-house training program.

Why We Invest in Our Own Training

At Barts Electric, we believe the Barts Electric way is the right way. That’s why we took the bold step of bringing our training programs in-house. This wasn’t done to make things easier — in fact, it’s a major undertaking and a big commitment. But it’s the right thing to do for our people and our industry.

Our program focuses not only on top-tier electrical skills and principles but also on leadership development, teamwork, and opportunity. It’s built on our long-standing merit shop belief: what you put in is what you get out. That philosophy drives everything we do, from our graduation ceremonies to our training sessions and craft competitions.

Join the Barts Electric Team

Barts Electric is always looking for passionate individuals to join our growing team. Whether you’re just starting your career and looking to become an electrical apprentice or you’re an experienced journeyman ready to take on new challenges, there’s a place for you here.

Our commitment to training, mentorship, and career development ensures that every team member has the tools and opportunities to succeed. If you’re ready to be part of a company that values skill, leadership, and growth, Barts Electric is the place to build your future.

I’m really excited for this Friday. Friday is a big deal for Barts Electric.

We’ve got a number of things going on, specifically centered around our graduation. The first thing we have going on is our craft championship. The second thing is instructor training, and then the third—and the cornerstone of it all—is our graduation.

We want to welcome you to this graduation, the very first graduation here on our new campus, and our largest class of graduates here at Barts Electric. We have a tremendous group of individuals who have assisted in making this possible. We want to give a round of applause to our graduates. Welcome, and good job, everyone!

This graduating class is special for a number of reasons. We have graduates who are running projects, graduates who have moved into various leadership positions, and above all else, this class really seems to have a mentor-focused spirit. They are truly interested in helping others.

I’ve witnessed so many of these graduates taking others under their wing. I’ve even heard comments from apprentices I’ve worked with, specifically on teaching them code, saying things like, “This fourth year, they’re a code guru.” It’s amazing to hear that the same individuals I’ve been teaching over the years, who have gone through all the schooling and training, are now being referred to as the go-to people for help.

That really sums up what this graduating class is all about: growth and building each other up. That’s the reason why we took this program in-house. We believe that the Barts way is the right way. We not only focus on the best electrical principles, but we also emphasize building each other, fostering leadership, and providing opportunities for people. That’s what this graduation is built to reflect—those Barts values.

None of this was done to make things easier on administration or Barts Electric in general. This was a huge undertaking and a big commitment, but it was the right thing to do. It’s what Barts Electric is known for: keeping up with the tradition of the merit shop belief that what you put in is what you get out.

This program, this graduation, the instructor training, and the craft championship have all been built with that philosophy in mind.
