At Barts Electric, generosity is more than a value—it’s part of who we are. As a national electrical construction contractor, Barts Electric believes that success in the electrical trade goes hand in hand with supporting the communities where we live and work. That belief was on full display during a recent Giving Machines event held at the Barts Electric office.

This initiative wasn’t just about donations—it was about bringing people together, encouraging generosity, and showing how electricians and construction professionals can make a meaningful impact beyond the jobsite.

What Are the Giving Machines?

The Giving Machines are simple, interactive donation kiosks that allow individuals to support local charities in an easy and tangible way. Instead of selecting a generic donation amount, participants choose specific items that directly benefit families and communities in need.

At Barts Electric, employees and visitors could donate items such as:

  • Fresh produce and whole chickens

  • Rice and garden seeds

  • Essential supplies

  • Even livestock, like a goat that can provide milk and long-term sustainability for a family

For example, one popular option was donating a goat for $86—an impactful gift that can truly change a family’s life by providing food and income opportunities.

Donations ranged from $5 to $50 and beyond, reinforcing the idea that everyone can give something.

A Company-Wide Commitment to Generosity

To amplify the impact, Barts Electric matched employee donations, doubling the support provided to local charities. The goal was ambitious: to make the Giving Machines at Barts Electric the highest revenue-generating location of the month.

The event ran all day—from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on December 1st—even through snowy weather. With the lobby decorated, snacks available, and gifts under the trees, the atmosphere reflected what Barts Electric is known for: a welcoming, people-first culture.

How This Reflects Life at Barts Electric

For electricians and those considering a career in the electrical trade, this event highlights something important—Barts Electric invests in its people.

Generosity at Barts Electric isn’t limited to charitable giving. It’s seen every day through:

  • Patient training and mentorship

  • A strong apprenticeship program

  • Experienced journeymen supporting the next generation

  • A workplace culture focused on growth, respect, and excellence

This same spirit of teamwork and giving back is what helps employees succeed on complex electrical construction projects across the country.

Opportunities for Electricians and Apprentices

As a growing national electrical contractor, Barts Electric is always hiring:

  • Electrical apprentices looking to start or advance their careers

  • Experienced journeymen electricians ready to work on large-scale projects

For those who want more than just a job—who want a career with purpose, training, and community impact—Barts Electric offers an environment where electricians can thrive professionally while making a difference.

More Than Electrical Construction

The Giving Machines event was a reminder that the electrical trade is about more than wiring buildings—it’s about building people and communities. At Barts Electric, giving back is woven into the company culture, just like safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork.

Whether you’re an experienced electrician, an apprentice, or someone considering entering the trade, Barts Electric is proof that you can build a strong career while being part of something bigger.

Barts Electric is proud to support local charities, empower its employees, and continue shaping the future of the electrical industry—one project and one act of generosity at a time.

We have the giving machines at Barts Electric today, and our goal is to be generous. We’ve encouraged our employees to be generous, and we as a company are going to match the donations today.

Our goal is to have the giving machines here at Barts Electric be the highest revenue generator of this month with the giving machines. It’s open all day here at Barts Electric from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on December 1st.

We’re getting snow today. Hopefully many will come in on the snow day. We got snacks. The lobby is decorated. We got presents under the trees. We got visitors here right now.

What I really love about the giving machine is this all goes to local charities. And you can go in, and it’s so easy. Sometimes you don’t know how to donate or where to give. You can come up here, and my favorite one is goat. You can click the goat, and for $86 you can get a family a goat. Just think about how that changes a family’s life to have a goat that can give milk. They had some fresh produce, whole chickens, rice, seeds that you can plant a garden.

So, I just think it’s such a great way to give, and it’s so easy. You know, $50, $15, $5—everybody can give something to the giving machine.

Our employees are super generous with patience, with training and teaching, making sure everybody understands their job, that they can excel at their job. And this goes right in with the giving machines here in our lobby. We know they’re generous, and that’s why we’re excited to have them here, because it’s going to turn out to be a great day for all these charities and a great day for our employees to give some back.
