Barts Electric, a leading national electrical construction contractor, takes pride in its recent accomplishment at the Wells Wo project. This project involved the construction of a new wrestling room and a state-of-the-art weight room, showcasing the company’s commitment to excellence in electrical work. In this blog article, we’ll delve into the details of the project, emphasizing its challenges, solutions, and the expertise that Barts Electric brings to the table.

Project Overview

The Wells Wo project, spanning approximately 8 months, presented unique challenges and opportunities for Barts Electric. The initial plan involved exposed cabling, but a shift in school requirements led to the incorporation of about a mile’s worth of piping. This intricate network included components for lighting, power, fire alarm systems, occupancy sensors, and speaker systems, underscoring the complexity of the project.

Underground Work and Above-Ceiling Piping

The project required extensive underground work, adding to the complexity of the construction. The installation of above-ceiling piping became a critical aspect, highlighting the adaptability and expertise of Barts Electric in navigating unexpected changes. The team seamlessly integrated the necessary infrastructure while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Remodeling Challenges

Inside the facility, Barts Electric faced the task of updating electrical systems dating back to the ’50s. This involved overcoming various challenges, such as identifying issues with PVC installations above the ceiling and resolving wire-related issues. The experienced team tackled these hurdles by troubleshooting circuits, ensuring that the electrical components met modern standards.

Exemplary Remodel Work

Barts Electric took a meticulous approach to the remodel work, rectifying the mistakes of the past and elevating the electrical systems to meet contemporary requirements. The team addressed labeling discrepancies and tidied up the entire electrical infrastructure, adhering to the high standards that define the “BS way” – the Barts Electric way.

Opportunities for Electricians

For aspiring electricians and those seeking new opportunities, Barts Electric is a noteworthy destination. The company is not only a national electrical construction contractor but also a hub for electrical apprentices and experienced journeymen. With a commitment to excellence and a continuous demand for skilled professionals, Barts Electric provides a dynamic environment for career growth.

The successful completion of the Wells Wo project exemplifies Barts Electric’s dedication to delivering top-tier electrical construction services. From adapting to changing project requirements to revamping outdated electrical systems, Barts Electric consistently showcases its expertise and commitment to quality. So, this is the Wells wo project. This is a new addition that we did. We added a wrestling room and then a new weight room down at the end. It took about, I’d say, about 8 months to do. We had some underground work to do in here, a lot of above-ceiling piping. Before, they didn’t call for piping; it was all going to be exposed cabling, and the school changed that. So, we went through, and I want to say there’s probably about a mile worth of pipe. We have it from our lighting to our power, to our fire alarm systems, to our occupancy sensors, and to our speaker systems for the school. It was pretty—it was a lot easier than the remodel work we’ve done here.

The remodel work that we’ve done inside is all electrical work from the ’50s, so there are a lot of issues figuring out, refinding stuff that the maintenance guys put. PVC above ceiling, some wire issues that we had to fix, and then just troubleshooting circuits. A lot of stuff wasn’t labeled here, so we went in, fixed all that, made it correct how it’s supposed to be the Barts Electric way, and just kind of tidied everything up, made it look super clean for the school itself, and made the owner happy.
