At Barts Electric, opportunity and growth go hand in hand. As a national electrical construction contractor, Barts Electric is known not only for delivering quality work across the country but also for developing skilled electricians who take pride in their craft. For anyone looking to begin or advance a career in the electrical trade, Barts Electric offers a clear path forward — with real mentorship, hands-on experience, and the potential to lead major projects.

In a recent company video, Corey, a second-year apprentice, shared his journey with Barts Electric and how it transformed his career path.

“Before Barts Electric, I actually went to college and graduated with a degree in sport management,” Corey explained. “I was working as a recreation coordinator in my hometown, but I knew I wanted to do something more hands-on.”

That drive led Corey to explore the trades — and ultimately to Barts Electric. In just over two and a half years, he’s grown from having no electrical experience to helping lead and finish major projects.

“I started out at Park Hill Elementary as kind of a right-hand lead guy,” Corey said. “By the end of the project, I was the one finishing it off with a couple of apprentices under me. Barts Electric gave me that opportunity to learn as I go, but still provided the resources so I never felt like I was on my own.”

Corey’s story highlights what makes Barts Electric unique — a company culture built on training, teamwork, and trust. Apprentices are paired with experienced journeymen who help them learn the trade the right way, while still being challenged to take on more responsibility as their skills grow.

“You can start from knowing nothing,” Corey shared, “and within a couple of years, you could be helping complete a multi-million dollar project. There’s a lot of opportunity for growth — you just have to be willing to take it.”

Barts Electric continues to hire new electrical apprentices and experienced journeymen who want to build rewarding, long-term careers in electrical construction. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to join a team that values skill, safety, and leadership, there’s a place for you at Barts Electric.

If you’re ready to take the next step toward a brighter future in the trades, join the team at Barts Electric — where hard work meets opportunity.

My name is Corey. I’m a second-year apprentice. I’ve been with Barts Electric for about two and a half years now.

Before Barts Electric, I actually went to college, graduated with a degree in sport management, and was the recreation coordinator for my hometown. I had a couple of friends that worked for Barts Electric. I was looking into the trades, looking into different ones. Wasn’t sure kind of what I wanted to do, but knew I wanted to do something, be hands-on.

Kind of my goal is to one day be running work myself, and I’ve gotten the opportunity already. I finished off Park Hill Elementary. I started out there just kind of as a right-hand lead kind of guy, and by the end of the project, I was the one finishing it off. Had a couple of apprentices under me. So, it’s given me that opportunity to kind of learn as I go, but still having the resources that I can reach out to, and that way I don’t feel like I’m drowning out there.

Barts Electric is great because they’re willing to teach you. You can learn every day. I started from where I did, knowing nothing, to within two, two and a half years, kind of finishing off a $3 million project. So, there’s a lot of opportunity for growth and a lot of opportunity. You just got to be willing to take it.
