At Barts Electric — a national electrical construction contractor — the company’s strength lies in the people who choose to build their careers here. Anthony, a second-year apprentice, represents the drive and determination that fuels the Barts Electric team every day.

Before joining Barts Electric, Anthony worked with his family’s residential carpentry company, doing subfloor work and other construction-related projects. While that experience helped him develop valuable hands-on skills, he wanted to broaden his expertise and take on a new challenge in a growing industry.

“I just wanted to expand my knowledge, expand what I could do — maybe bring more to the table for my family down the road,” Anthony shared. That desire to grow led him to explore opportunities in the electrical trade.

Finding the Right Fit

Anthony’s journey to Barts Electric started online. He searched for electrical companies on sites like Reddit, Indeed, and Google — and quickly noticed that Barts Electric stood out. “Nobody had anything to say but good things about Barts Electric,” he said. “They were right there at the top of the list, so I applied right away.”

The company responded quickly, bringing him in for an interview and a short math test. From there, he began his apprenticeship and found himself part of a team that valued mentorship, accountability, and upward mobility.

Leadership That Builds Leaders

Anthony now works with another apprentice, Kaden, completing lighting installations at KNC1 and preparing to move on to new projects. What stands out most to him is the leadership culture at Barts Electric.

“The leadership here is phenomenal,” he said. “There are guys in their third or fourth years wrapping up their apprenticeships who are already stepping into team lead or foreman roles. They’re helping others grow and pushing everyone to be their best.”

That focus on developing people from within is a cornerstone of Barts Electric’s success. The company believes in lifting each other up — from the newest apprentice to experienced journeymen — creating an environment where everyone can thrive and advance.

Right now, me and another guy named Kaden are doing all the lights out at KNC1 and just trying to finish those up and get on to the next building.

Before Barts Electric, I was with my family company. We do a lot of subfloor work, carpentry, things like that on the residential side. It was a great opportunity. I learned a lot, and I just wanted to expand my knowledge, expand what I could do, maybe bring to the table later on down the road for my family.

And so that’s how I ended up finding the electrical field. One day, I just decided today’s the day. I’m going to go ahead and go online, start looking for a bunch of different companies, see what people had said on Reddit or Indeed or just any of those job posting websites where you can kind of check on things before you apply.

And nobody had anything to say but good things about Barts Electric. They were right there at the top of the list on Google, and I immediately put in my application. They were insanely quick on response. They wanted me to come out for an in-person and take a little test, a little math test. Did all that.

The leadership here is phenomenal. I mean, there are guys that are in their third or fourth years, wrapping up their apprenticeships, that are already starting to be team leads, starting to help with being foremen on the job sites, things like that. They’re going to uplift you. They want to put you in that position where you can better your career and better yourself.

I think that’s really important when you have guys at the top trying to bring everybody up from the bottom up. I think that that’s really important. I think that that really helps drive people to better themselves—and not only themselves but the…
