At Barts Electric, we’re proud to be more than a national electrical construction contractor—we’re also a part of the communities where we live and work. One of the places where this comes to life most clearly is our office in Liberty, Missouri.
In the accompanying video, we’re standing in what was once the office of Jim Frell of Ferrell Gas. Last year, Barts Electric had the privilege of purchasing this historic building and bringing it back to life. Now, it serves not only as a functional office space, but also as a symbol of the legacy and future of the electrical trade.
This article is especially for electricians and those who want to become electricians. If you’re considering a career in the electrical industry—or looking for the next step in your journey as a journeyman—Barts Electric is always hiring new electrical apprentices and experienced journeymen across the country.
A Building With a Story: Liberty, Missouri in the 1980s
The building we now call home was originally constructed by Ferrell Gas back in the early 1980s. At that time, Liberty, Missouri was a smaller community, and these two magnificent buildings quickly became an important part of the town’s identity.
You can imagine what they meant to:
- The employees who came here every day to work and build their careers
- The local community that saw these buildings as symbols of growth and opportunity
- Families who passed by or visited, marking milestones and memories
Today, Barts Electric has the honor of picking up that legacy. We’ve carefully restored and revitalized the space while preserving its character and history. The office we’re in now—once Jim Frell’s office—is a warm, inviting room with a unique feel. It’s the kind of space that reminds you that the work we do doesn’t just power buildings; it supports people, families, and communities.
As we look ahead to 2026 and beyond, we’re excited to continue being part of the ongoing story of this building and the city of Liberty.
A Community Space: Come Visit, Take Photos, Make Memories
This building is more than just an office for Barts Electric—it’s a place we want the community to enjoy.
The lobby, originally built by Ferrell Gas in the 1980s, is a stunning space that naturally draws people in. It’s become a backdrop for important moments in people’s lives, and we want to keep that tradition alive.
We invite you and your family to:
- Come visit the lobby and experience the architecture and atmosphere
- Sit on the stairs next to the Christmas tree during the holiday season and capture a great family photo
- Use the space for special life moments—prom pictures, wedding photos, or anytime you want a meaningful, beautiful setting
Many people over the years have come here for those exact reasons, and we want that to continue. This building is part of Liberty’s story, and we’re happy to share it with you.
