Keller Army Community Hospital

Scope

Keller Army Community Hospital Project was a major remodel of an active 5 story military hospital that was built in the late 1960’s. The remodel consisted of installing a new medium voltage service including medium voltage switches and unit substation. It also consisted of new switchgear, ATS’s, electrical rooms, data center, comm. rooms/ communication systems, mechanical & HVAC systems, fire alarm system, access control system, nurse call system, queuing system, intrusion detection system, and public address system. All these system upgrades took place without the building loosing functionality of the old services. Also completed a full gut of the basement and 1st floor and partial gut of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor. This was achieved through phased construction (58 phases) Some of the larger phases were utilized a temporary emergency dept (while permanent emergency dept was built), remodeled radiology suite, pharmacy, endoscopy, permanent emergency dept, multispecialty clinic, lab offices & lab storage areas, radiology suite, admin office spaces, plant maintenance area, common areas/waiting rooms, medical records, security suite, portions of L&D, and portions of the surgical suites.
