Barts Electric: Being Social is Within Our Cultural Experience

Behind every great electrician is a foundation built on learning. At Barts Electric, our highly respected in-house Apprenticeship Program is fully certified and registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, giving our apprentices a structured pathway into the electrical trade. This isn’t just on-the-job training. It’s a real education combined with real experience. In addition to hands-on experience, our apprentices spend dedicated time in the classroom learning from patient, caring instructors who have spent years in the field. From electrical theory and code to real-world installation practices, they’re building the knowledge that supports long, successful careers. And for those willing to put in the effort, our program rewards motivation. Highly driven apprentices have opportunities to advance faster than traditional apprenticeship timelines through performance, dedication, and demonstrated skill. Get paid. Learn a trade. Build a career with real security and opportunity. We don’t just build buildings. We Build People. Learn more at: https://bartselectric.com/apprenticeship

Project Spotlight: Greene County Sheriff’s Office & Detention Center | Springfield, Missouri A few years ago, Barts Electric was proud to serve as the electrical contractor for the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Jail, a modern justice campus built to support the Springfield community for decades to come. Located on a 23-acre site near Springfield-Branson National Airport, the complex includes a detention facility with capacity for more than 1,200 inmates, along with administrative offices, training space, and evidence storage for the Greene County Sheriff’s Department. Our team provided the electrical infrastructure that powers the facility’s lighting, communications, and operational systems. We were fortunate to work alongside an outstanding group of construction partners and a great Barts Electric crew who collaborated on this one. Projects like this highlight the teamwork, planning, and craftsmanship required to deliver critical public safety facilities. Happy National Employee Appreciation Day to our entire Barts team. At Barts Electric, we say it all the time: We Build People. That’s not just a slogan on our sign. It’s the way we try to run this company every single day. The truth is, buildings don’t get wired by companies. They get wired by people. Good people. Hard-working people. People who show up early, stay late when the job demands it, look out for one another, and take pride in doing things the right way. From the apprentices just getting started, to the journeymen in the field, to the project managers, office staff, and leaders helping guide the way… this company runs because of you. You’re the ones putting the wood in the stove. And because of that, Barts Electric continues to grow, take on bigger challenges, and build projects all across this country that we can all be proud of. So today, we just want to say thank you. Thank you for your effort. Thank you for your character. And thank you for helping us build something special together.

We’re getting close to the finish line at the new Gulf Shores High School in Alabama, and it’s been exciting to watch this incredible campus come to life. At nearly 300,000 square feet, this is a massive project with everything you’d expect from a modern high school; advanced classrooms and labs, performing arts spaces, athletic facilities, and the infrastructure needed to support a truly next-generation learning environment. Projects like this take serious coordination, planning, and teamwork from a lot of talented people. We’ve got a great crew on this, who have had the opportunity to work alongside an outstanding group of contracting partners, project leaders, and skilled trades who have helped bring this vision together. It’s been a great collaboration from start to finish. Over the years, Barts Electric has had the opportunity to power up schools and universities across the country, from K-12 campuses to major higher-education facilities. These are the kinds of projects we take a special pride in, because the buildings we help build today will serve students and communities for decades to come. We don’t just build buildings. We Build People.

This week is Women in Construction Week, a time to recognize the impact women are making across every corner of our industry. From the field to the office, from apprentices to executives, women continue to play a vital role in building the future of construction. At Barts Electric, we’re proud to work alongside incredible women who lead, mentor, solve problems, and help move projects forward every single day. We have women in executive leadership, project management, estimating, office operations, and out in the field as electricians. Their dedication, skill, and work ethic strengthen our teams and our culture. They help make us better. The construction industry offers real opportunity. It provides a chance to learn a valuable skill, build a meaningful career, and create a secure future. As we celebrate this week, we hope more women take a closer look at the trades and consider the possibilities that exist here. There is room for everyone who is willing to learn, grow, and put in the work. We don’t just build buildings. We Build People. And we’re grateful for the women who help make that possible every day.

We’re so honored to be an approved contractor for the U.S. military, and over the years we’ve had the opportunity to work on bases all across the country. From base hospitals and exchanges to barracks and mission-critical facilities, our team has been trusted to deliver safe, reliable electrical systems where it matters most. One of the bases we had the privilege of working was Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Being part of projects that help support the men and women who protect our country (and potentially our planet) is an honor we never take for granted. That trust isn’t something we take lightly. It’s earned through consistency, accountability, and the kind of culture that pushes every one of us to do the right thing, even when no one is watching. We don’t just build buildings. We Build People. And together, we’re proud to support those who serve.

For a quarter of a century, Steve Weidmaier has been one of the cornerstones of our success. The guy who never hesitates to raise his hand when there’s a tough project, a tight deadline, or a job site across the country that needs someone who will simply get it done. If there’s a challenge, Steve is already packing his bags. If there’s a problem, he’s already working the solution. If there’s a team that needs leadership, he’s already there. He has built a reputation on one simple belief: failure is not an option. But what really sets Steve apart isn’t just the projects he’s completed. It’s the people he’s built along the way. He’s mentored countless electricians, foremen, and leaders who carry forward the same work ethic, accountability, and pride in their craft. He’s respected by his peers, trusted by his crews, and valued by every customer who has had the chance to work with him. At Barts Electric, we don’t just build buildings. We Build People. And Steve has been living that every single day for 25 years. Thank you, Steve, for your commitment, your leadership, and for continuing to put wood in the stove. Here’s to the next chapter.
