At Barts Electric, every project is more than just wires, lights, and conduit. It’s about purpose — the kind of purpose that connects electricians, apprentices, and entire teams to something bigger than themselves.

Barts Electric is a national electrical construction contractor with projects across the United States. Whether we’re wiring a massive data center, installing lighting in a commercial building, or powering up a new hospital, our work has real meaning. This message comes through clearly in one of our company videos, where leadership reminds the team what their work truly represents.

The Power of Purpose in Every Project

In the video, Bart shares a story about President John F. Kennedy visiting NASA. When JFK asked a janitor what he was doing, the janitor replied, “I’m putting a man on the moon.” The message is simple — every role, no matter how small it seems, contributes to something extraordinary.

That same mindset applies to our work at Barts Electric. When our crews show up on a job site, we aren’t just running wires or finding pipe routes. We’re building something that matters — something that serves people and strengthens communities.

Building Hospitals That Save Lives

In this project, the Barts Electric team was building a hospital — the only one in the area where families can deliver babies. For many of our electricians, the realization hit hard: without this hospital, countless lives could be at risk.

As Bart explains in the video, “My wife nearly died twice. If we didn’t have a hospital, I’d have a dead wife. This is a big deal for this community.”

This is the heart of what we do. For families in rural America — where access to quality medical care can be limited — the work of electricians becomes vital. A properly wired hospital with reliable power means doctors can do their jobs, patients can receive critical care, and parents can bring their children safely into the world.

Pride in Purpose, Passion in Craft

Electricians at Barts Electric know that their craft carries weight. We don’t just install systems — we enable communities to thrive. We give professionals the tools they need to serve others, and we bring modern technology to places that need it most.

When we build hospitals, schools, or commercial spaces, we’re not just completing another job — we’re laying the foundation for safety, innovation, and progress.

Now Bart likes a story. He likes to tell a story about JFK going to NASA. You guys heard this story?

There’s a JFK going to NASA. He sees the janitor sweeping the floors. He asked him, “What are you doing?” What did he say? Anybody know the story?

“I’m putting a man on the moon.”

Okay. You did not find pipes. You are building a hospital. Does this hospital matter to this community? This is the only hospital where you can deliver a baby. Any of you have kids?

Okay. Got a couple with kids. Is it a scary experience when your wife’s having a baby?

It is. Yeah. My wife nearly died twice. So, if we didn’t have a hospital, I’d have a dead wife. This is a big deal for this community.

A lot of us come from rural America. Any of you have family in rural America? Yeah. Do you know what it’s like to have your mom go to the hospital and not feel like there’s a good doctor there? Yeah.

Cuz I’m from rural America. My mom and dad have both been in a hospital that I thought, “Holy crap, I wish you wouldn’t have went there.”

That’s what this gives this community. It’s a hospital with facilities, the technology for the doctors to be willing to come. They have to recruit medical professionals to come to places like this. If the facility is not there, they don’t come.

So what we do every day — we didn’t find pipes. Today we built the hospital for the community.
